The Intellectual Disabilities or “Tootsie Roll” Fund Drive is one of the most recognizable activities that the Knights of Columbus do. The funds generated from this drive are used to support local programs which help people with special learning and life needs.
Allouez Council will conduct our Tootsie Roll Drive this year September 12th – 14. Friday, September 12th and Saturday, September 13th, we will be collecting money and distributing tootsie rolls at the following locations:
> Jewel at City Line Plaza
> Rock Island Hy-Vee
> 7-11 at 38th St & 18th Ave in Rock Island
> IHMVCU branch on 5th Ave in Rock Island
Saturday, September 13th and Sunday, September 14th, we will be collecting money and distributing tootsie rolls before and after each Mass at each of the Rock Island Parishes.
Five Intellectual Disabilities organizations assist with the Tootsie Roll Drive by providing individuals to stand at our collection stations on Friday and Saturday. The funds we raise through the ID Drive are distributed to these five organizations:
> Rock Island Vicariate S.P.E.C.
> Horace Mann Early Learning Center
> Skip-a-Long Childhood Center
> The ARC of the Quad Cities
> Children’s Therapy Center
