The Knights of Columbus has a FAITH IN ACTION program which commemorates the miracle of roses that occurred when the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to Juan Diego near Mexico City in December 1531. The Silver Rose program is a prayer service designed around a Silver Rose and an image of Our Lady of Guadalupe. It is dedicated to the respect for life inspired by the events related to the visitation of the Blessed Virgin to Juan Diego.
Allouez Council will host the Silver Rose on Wednesday and Thursday, September 3rd and 4th. The Silver Rose and an image of Our Lady of Guadalupe will be on display at the front of the church during 12:10 PM Mass at St. Mary’s, Rock Island and the 5:30 PM Mass at St. Pius X on Wednesday, September 3rd. At the conclusion of each Mass, one of our Knights will read a special article relaying some of the history of Silver Rose and its link to Our Lady of Guadalupe.
